Key Features
The Preferred model holds all the essential features that define the entire 2022 Hyundai Sonata selection. They include comprehensive safety features like automatic collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a rear-view camera. The steering wheel and the front seats are heated, with the latter being leather-wrapped. This model would not be complete without the 8” touchscreen and Android Auto & Apple Carplay compatibility. The convenience of keyless entry is also common to all 2022 Sonata models.
The Sport model upgrades the engine and mainly adds a host of esthetic features. These include Dinamica leatherette seats, panoramic sunroof, interior LED illumination, liquid chrome accents (on inside and outside).
The Luxury model adds a surround-view monitor, increases leather surfaces, and upgrades the entertainment features with a 12-speaker Bose audio system. These specs are also included in the N Line, but you also get a Head’s Up Display and 10.25” navigation system touchscreen.
The Ultimate Hybrid pretty much speaks for itself. However, you may be surprised to learn that you can pair the hybrid engine with an optional solar panel roof that helps you charge the car with daylight.
Key Performance Benefits
While the bulk of this line’s models already holds an impressive fuel efficiency rate of around 7.1 to 6.5l per 100 km, it’s the Ultimate Hybrid truly takes the cake. It boasts a combined rate of 5.0l. This number represents 5.3l in city environments and 4.6l in highways. Not bad!
Advantages of the Sonata
As we previously mentioned, one of the great things about the 2022 Hyundai Sonata line-up is the wide range of options presented. The Preferred model can be ideal for any driver facing a tight budget, but even the Ultimate Hybrid model can be a great investment. Indeed, the price is the highest out of all the Sonata’s available, but the hybrid engine means you will not need to spend as much money on monthly gas.
The unpredictable circumstances of the current pandemic may continue to spike gas costs to unprecedented levels, and having the luxury of not depending on frequent refuelling will be tremendously advantageous to the owner of an Ultimate Hybrid Sonata. Nevertheless, if hybrid vehicles aren’t up your lane, you can still find different advantages amongst the other models. For example, the Smartstream element in all the models helps maximize fuel efficiency.
Prices
The $27,549 tag of the Preferred model makes the 2022 Hyundai Sonata line one of the most competitively priced sedans on the market. At $32,000, you get several additional features in the Sport model. However, Luxury has never been more affordable; the namesake trim sits at $36,249. If you want the bigger engine and the Nappa leather seats of the N Line, you’ll have to increase your budget to $38,699.
Yet business-oriented drivers who understand the importance of a good investment will take notice of the benefits presented by the Ultimate Hybrid model. No one knows what the future holds, but one thing is certain: hybrid cars will be a crucial advantage in the context of skyrocketing gas prices.
