2023 Hyundai Palisade vs Kia Telluride: Who is the SUV Market King?

2023 Hyundai Palisade vs Kia Telluride: Who is the SUV Market King?

The battle between the 2023 Hyundai Palisade vs. Kia Telluride has just begun. These two SUVs are great for families and anyone looking for a great vehicle with many features. The Kia Telluride has been a staple in this segment for some time, so we’ll check both proposals to see the best choice.

What Are the Similarities?

What Are the Similarities

The Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride target the same consumer group and thus have some similarities. For instance, both share the same 3.8-litre V6 engine with 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque and roughly the same fuel economy. The Kia Telluride is rated at 12.8L/100km for city driving and 9.8L/100km on highways. Whereas the Hyundai Palisade offers 12.6L/100km and 9.5L/100km on highways.

Both come standard in front-wheel drives with optional AWD, sporting automatic transmission and eight seats. Plus, they’re in the same price range.

What’s New in the 2023 Kia Telluride

This SUV is packed with features, but there aren’t a lot of additions for the 2023 model. There’s a larger 31.24cm infotainment touchscreen and Wi-Fi connectivity. There’s also a head-up display of 25.4cm instead of 21.59cm.

Exterior-wise it has new headlights, with a dual-bar design and some minor changes around the grille. There are also some minor cosmetic changes in the rear, mainly with the tail lights.

However, the big news is the new X-Line and X-Pro models. The first one adds more suspension height and an updated traction control system. It comes with 50.8cm wheels, a roof rack, and a specific grille. The X-Pro is the same, but with 45.72cm wheels. Both have a max towing capacity of 2,268 kg. All these features are oriented toward a more off-road experience.

Many Changes in 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Many Changes in 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Unlike the Tellurite, the Hyundai Palisade has many changes. This year’s model has better looks than the 2022 version, with a new grille and headlights. The new multi-spoke wheel design adds to the premium look.

Many changes are exclusive to certain trims. For example, there are auto-dimming exterior mirrors, acoustic-laminated rear door glass, and heated third-row seats on certain trims.

Among the infotainment improvements, there’s now a higher resolution 31.24cm screen, Wi-Fi hotspot and digital rearview mirror.

Some security features include remote smart parking assist, enhanced forward collision avoidance, highway driving assist and adaptive cruise control.

There are some quality-of-life options, including a massaging driver’s seat and wing-out head restraints for the second row with adjustable armrests.

Who Is the SUV Market King?

Who Is the SUV Market King

Both are excellent SUVs in their own lane. The Telluride didn’t change much, but the Palisade had many improvements. It’s, in a way, trying to catch up with the Kia Telluride’s success.

Both SUVs have much to offer for regular use. Since they share many features, such as the engine, it’s more a matter of personal taste. However, if you’re an off-road enthusiast, you can try out the X-Line and X-Pro from Kia.
